Ahhhh. This lazy weekend was much-needed. I hope you had some relaxation these last couple days, too.

First and very importantly – a happy 25th anniversary shout out to my parents :) their anniversary was on Wednesday and I am looking forward to celebrating properly with them next weekend over Memorial Day. Cheers to another 25 years of love & happiness!

Brandon and I were pretty much bums this weekend so I’ll keep this brief. Also, I am blogging from my phone because my computer is acting sketchy. I am currently backing up all my files and saying silent prayers that it will be better in the morning. In the meantime, here is a very quick recap of the weekend in pictures.

Friday – I came home a little early to beat traffic but ended up working from home until kinda late. Easy quesadilla dinner and hours of lazy TV followed (told ya this would be boring!)

I also made these cookies. It’s a Paula Deen recipe. (I didn’t use that much butter and didn’t use any shortening). If you make them, be prepared to eat all of them within 3 days, be in a total sugar coma and have mixed feelings about whether or not it was worth it. They are delicious!!

Saturday – absolutely gorgeous day. Brandon humored me and came along on the 3 mile walk around Lake Calhoun and we stopped to get frozen yogurt.

I have been asking him to go over a month and my frozen yogurt dreams finally came truuuuue. I was so excited I took a blurry picture in my hurry to eat.

Doesn’t he look like he just HATES frozen yogurt? To his credit, the store was kind of ridiculously crowded, but I expected it on such a warm spring day and was just happy to be in the presence of such a delicious dessert food in the middle of the afternoon.

The rest of the day was a repeat of Friday night – we watched almost an entire season of Weeds and had a very simple pasta dinner (I actually ate a veggie burger salad and cooked some spaghetti with Italian meat sauce for the dude – does not get any easier than that my friends).

Sunday – I slept until almost 1 pm today. Yes, it isĀ embarrassingĀ for me to admit this publicly on the internet. This is why I need to go to bed at normal hours during the week and not stay up until 11:30 screwing around and blogging (guilty.. doing this same thing right now!). Today was awesome though because we ate a boatload of watermelon -

First watermelon of the year! Don’t worry, we have already had a few ears of definitely-not-local sweet corn. Summer food is THE BEST.

Oh, and ya know, another totally failed run. I had 8 miles on the calendar today and my knees/IT bands still really hate me for running a half marathon. I ran about 4 miles and walked the rest of the way home in pathetic defeat. And made a stop at Target on the way to pick up mini corndogs for Brandon (…… he requested. I am a nice girlfriend) and some impulse buys in the clothing section.

On the plus side it got really nice out by the time I went on my run and I did enjoy some glorious sunshine on my face.

That’s it! See, a lot of lazing around and not-so-interesting cooking. I’m feeling SUPER well-rested and ready to take on another crazy work week before the holiday weekend.

Were you as lazy as me this weekend?
