My challenge to you for the week: Wear something that makes you feel cute when you go work out!
My normal workout gear is leggings or running shorts, whatever sports bra is clean, and a grubby tee from my giant high school sports and Greek event shirt stash. Not cute. For my group strength class tonight, I threw on a neon tank from Victoria’s Secret with a cute bra in a matching color from Target, with actual workout pants instead of leggings I’ve had for 4 years. It was mostly a happy coincidence that the tank was laying on my floor from this weekend and the pants were on the top of the drawer, but the change in outfit surprisingly made a huge difference in how I felt during my workout! The color made my skin look good, I could see my muscles working as I lifted (shoulders are my fave :), and it was more fun to watch my form in the mirror since I didn’t look like I had just rolled out of bed.
So – this week – put on some cute workout gear in a color that makes you look good, that makes you feel good and shows off your favorite part of your body before you work out, and see what a difference it makes. Even switching up what type of bottoms you wear (from yoga pants to cropped leggings, perhaps!) or from a scrubby tee to a colored tank top could change your experience for the better. Just try it! I’ll probably be back to my grungy tee-shirt on Wednesday, but I am also motivated to find some new, affordable workout gear ASAP! In the meantime, I’ll leave you with some tops I’d love to have as options this week (but aren’t on the shopping list quite yet):
